Streamline: Celebrating 20 years: 2003 - Present

Our Story over the past two decades…..


2003 – was a momentous year. Concorde took it’s final flight, Lionel Messi made his debut at Barcelona, and Michael Jordan played his last game in the NBA. And Streamline was born.

With a small team of two entrepreneurs and a bright idea, their purpose was to make a difference in how recruitment is delivered. Coming from large corporate agencies, their purpose was to deliver recruitment differently. “Let’s reduce cost and time to hire for clients, with passion, personality and transparency”. Launching from a back bedroom in North London Streamline was created and within the first few month’s new clients were won and trading began.

The first hires were made in 2004 and they quickly outgrew the back bedroom, moving in to their very first office in Hertfordshire. 2005 saw a strategic move to the heart of St Albans as the business started to scale. They were established as the go to Tech and Financial Services agency for Consultancies, Bank, Insurers and Brokerages.

Before they knew it, within a few years they had built a wide client base, across the UK and had started embarking into the European market. The team grew and the community built, they experienced success before the challenges of the financial crisis in 2008.


2009 – 2015 In step with the wider UK economy, this was a halcyon period for Streamline as they embarked on an unprecedent period of growth and focused their niche markets in Management Consulting and Financial Services. This included two office moves, and a Tenth-year anniversary.


2013 Streamline celebrated 10 years in business.


2016 Streamline became finalists in the Fintech innovation awards.


2017 - Streamline becomes Key supplier on interim and contract resources to two of the largest UK Fintech and Insurance firms. 


2019 – Product Launch and website rebranding - Streamline launches their unique retained, interim and scale up services


2020 – Covid. A global pandemic hits, Streamline continues to adapt and change to the markets, adopting flexible working practices and maintaining their staff levels throughout, supporting their communities in one of the most challenging periods ever faced.


2021 – USA! Streamline launches their push into the North American market, successfully mirroring their business in financial services and consulting markets, winning key clients and key hires within weeks.


2023 20 years old! As Streamline enjoys its 20th birthday, MD & Founder Mark Nelson, is still leading from the front. He is immensely proud to lead a team of passionate, friendly, and hugely experienced people he can also call friends. Our longest serving members have been with him and Streamline for the past ten years, experiencing huge success and a long career with the business.   

In a world saturated with recruitment businesses, Streamline has stood the test of two decades with their personal touch and personality, delivering the best service to their communities through long term, transparent partnerships.

They have adapted and changed with the constant demands of the recruitment markets, investing in technology, training and services whilst always committing to their benchmark quality ratios.

It is in no small part down to the clients, candidates, suppliers and, most importantly, loyal staff that have contributed to the business over the years. So Streamline would like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has been part of this journey over 20 years and made Streamline what it is today.
